It was 31st Oct morning when I left from Ahmedabad for Mumbai after 'mini vacation of diwali'. Travelling alone and that too in the morning is quite boring without a good company and I had company of the book titled 'I too had a love story' a debut novel by Ravindar Singh.
The story starts with a joyful incident - Reunion! Meeting your buddies after completion of college and that too after a long time, make you feel happy. Hanging out is fun and at that time they discuss a serious topic - having someone for life time, choosing life partner. In the era of internet, it’s possible with matrimony sites & Ravin, the author as main character creates a profile on shaadi.com. He finds a girl named Khushi.
After introduction of Khushi, you will fall in love with the way the love story progresses. Just amazing!! Simplicity of story, romantic conversations, and romance over phone & chat without meeting each other, Distance between Bhuvneshwar & Faridabad doesn't matter.
As the story progress, you will feel the love, meeting of Ravin & Khushi on day before Ravin leaves for US, the first meet, Khushi's elder sister Neeru, their experience of flooded roads; drizzle & telephonic talk everything will seem like you are witness of all the incidents. You fall in love with Shona and Shonimoni.
Then comes time for engagement, and also parents in story, and just before the day of their engagement, the valentine day, Khushi meets an accident, seriously injured & finally dies after some days. Ravin's feelings expression, missing his beloved so much & your love for characters all will make you cry if you have loved somebody ever & even not, you are sensitive.
I completed the novel in distance from Ahmedabad to Surat & then I was feeling bit upset. It was rollercoaster ride with love and sorrow and felt like Ravin written all from deep of his heart. First fall in love with Khushi and then feeling at your love is no more.
In end one incident, after year of Khushi's death, when a little girl fell while playing in garden, and her mother shouts her name 'Khushi', Ravin rush to that girl also will bring tears in your eyes. A book worth reading and I am sure you won't feel that you wasted your time reading the book.
